THY KINGDOM COME 10th-20th May
The Archbishops are again calling us to ten days of prayer from week of 10th-20th May. Prayer Journey leaflets are available in church both for adults and also for children with ten prayers for self on one side and a matching prayer for others on the other. Check for ideas.

For ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ – the national call to prayer by the Archbishops, you’re invited to join Revd Andy to ‘beat the bounds’ in prayer on Weds 16th May starting at GAFIRS at 6.30pm.
The weekly daytime Lent prayer walks were very encouraging – others may be free of an evening for all or just part of the walk.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK is 13th-19th May 2018
Although as a church, we are focussing our support for Christian Aid on the Ghana Appeal, we would also like to give the whole parish the opportunity to support Christian Aid if they wish.
Therefore, for this year we plan to deliver Christian Aid Week
envelopes to every home in the parish with an invitation to return any donations to the Parish Centre.
There is no need to knock on doors to collect donations.
Whilst this will help the work of Christian Aid, it will also
demonstrate the commitment of the congregations of St Mary’s,
St Francis’, St Faith’s & St Luke’s to help those in need.
Please contact Philippa Harrap or Peter Ford if you would be able to deliver a few envelopes. Philippa and Peter will be at the back of St Mary’s after the morning services. Contact details: &

FUNERAL for Kay Lancaster
We’re sorry to announce sad news that Kay Lancaster died last weekend having only recently received her St.Thomas’s Award from the Bishop for her long service to the church. Please remember her children Helen, Frances and David as they prepare for her funeral Thanksgiving to be in St.Mary’s on 15th May at 2.00pm.

We’re privileged to be stewards of the fabulous buildings we can let for community use. Check the webiste for booking details of The Parish Centre, The Brodrick Hall, St.Faith’s Hall and St.Francis’ Church, or contact the Parish Office. We also encourage the use of the Scout District HQ Hall on our Brodrick site – booking details on our website.

DID YOU KNOW? Chris Richardson’s future
In the hope that it is helpful to explain that a training ‘Title’ is all nurturing and equipping a curate to be able to move on to their first vicar’s post with confidence. The ‘Title’ is set for up to four years. Four years would mean that Chris is with us until June 2019. But the context is this: that after three years – if they’ve fulfilled all their training requirements then a curate is ‘released’ by the diocese to seek a job anytime before they reach the end of their four year term. Hence, through normal process Chris will be ‘released’ by the diocese at the end of May 2018. That means that should a suitable job emerge which matches Chris’s gifts and calling then, from June, he is able to apply for such a job and see where the Lord’s grace leads him. Please pray that God will guide Chris.
