What's On

For Adults

Our many activities and acts of worship for adults add up to offer a comprehensive programme for friendship and care along with growing our faith and prayer all through life.

Groups for Adults

Alpha Course

The popular introduction to the Christian faith.
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith.
Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.

See the Alpha page for more details.

Bible Fellowship Groups (Home Groups)

For friendship and chatting, Bible study and discussion, prayer and reflection – join one of our Home Groups.  There are ten groups meeting in homes across the parish or in the Parish Centre; you’d be very welcome to join the one which suits you.

See the Bible Fellowship Groups page for more details.

SMILE = St.Mary’s Informal Ladies Evening

A time for women to enjoy friendship and fun in activities ranging from waterspouts on the creek with a fire pit to drinks in a pub to walks to fundraising for women in our Africa Partnership and so much more.

It’s not a club with membership but is a great place to be so all women are very welcome to any SMILE activity.

A.Men = Alverstoke Men

A time for men to get together either practically clearing trees and having great bonfire with fish n’ chips, or radio controlled nights, or a pint at the pub, or curry nights and so much more.

Not a club, so any men are welcome at any of the activities – just to be ‘men’.

Mothers’ Union

Members of our parish branch would be very pleased to welcome you to their meetings held at 2.00pm in the Parish Centre on the third Tuesday of every month.

Games & Companionship

All welcome, hosted in St.Francis’ from 2.00pm-4.00pm every second Thursday of each month.  Just come to St.Francis’ church, relax in friendship, enjoy a cuppa and play a traditional game!

Cuppa & Company Bereavement Group

A monthly group for friendship, chatting and care in the aftermath of the death of someone we love.  Gathering with a few others who are also bereaved can help, especially with the home made cakes that are enjoyed.

Meetings are in the Parish Centre Lounge on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 2.00pm.

St.Mary’s Church Choir

St. Mary’s Church Choir comprising Adults and Children, sings Sunday by Sunday helping to lead the worship each morning and evening.

New members are welcome. Please see the Music page for more details.

Look out for our new ‘Community Worship Choir’ in 2021!

St.Mary’s Bell Ringers

Ringing the changes on Sundays and at weddings.

The ringers enjoy the tower of eight bells and welcome new members.

They rehearse on Friday evenings.
