Acts 4v32:  ‘“they did not claim their possessions as their own, but they shared everything they had… in God’s grace.

If any folk struggle to hear in St.Mary’s then we do have four sets of  ‘headphones’ which can be borrowed.  They work effectively off the loop system and we’d rather you felt comfortable to use them than struggle to hear.  They may be helpful when ‘noises off’ disturb too.

Could you be a school governor?  Please have a word with Andy.

We’re so grateful for all that is given in support of our life & ministry, mission & worship – thank you.

We have not had a general appeal for a good while due to our special fundraising in favour of the new Parish Centre along with the ‘crowd funding’ for the Families Minister post and our Africa Partnerships – thank you for all that is given.

At the Church Council there was thankfulness for the ‘grace’ of giving which is miraculously sustaining us in our day to day cost.  But those costs are increasing in 2020 – especially our ‘parish share’ towards the mission of the whole diocese going up to £134,037.  So members wondered if a ‘gentle’ reminder in this pew sheet might encourage some to review our ‘general’ giving and, if circumstances allow, increase it in keeping with inflation or whatever is possible!  Also an encouragement to use the ‘Parish Giving Scheme’ (PGS) for regular giving.  It is the tailor made scheme which works in favour of the giver and the church when compared to envelopes and Standing Orders.  New givers would especially be encouraged to sign up to the Parish Giving Scheme for which leaflets and forms are at the back of church.  But however you choose to give we’re very grateful, so thank you very much indeed for we are a self-funded charity where every penny does count and is an expression of our love for and worship of the Lord!  Thanks.

Christmas is coming!

Please pray that all our Christmas visitors may know the Lord’s welcome, grace and blessing for Christmas!

Please take a bundle of cards to post along the streets.

Street Bundles of our greetings cards are at the back of

St.Mary’s for posting along yours and all the the roads of the parish ahead of the Christmas Tree Festival which starts in 11 days!

If you can enjoy a nice walk along the roads, even praying for peace and blessing upon the residents as you post a card through their door, then your help would be invaluable – thank you.  The homes use about half the cards – the other cards go to the schools, care homes, etc, with some available in our churches.  Thank you.

We hope to give away 500 Christmas editions featuring Tom Hanks.  If any would like to donate towards the cost then any gifts in an envelope marked ‘Christmas Hope Magazine’ would be very much appreciated.  If too much is given it will help us pay for the parish Christmas Cards too!  Thank you so much.

breaks through £100,000!

We’re anticipating an outcome from our planning application over this next week.  But this is to let you know that Peter the Treasurer reports that “the Fashion Show raised £824.25.  Well done one and all for another great event!  I am waiting on some Gift Aid monies ahead of preparing our latest accounts but I am delighted to report that we have now raised £100,480 since we started fundraising back in 2016 – what a landmark!”  Peter Ford.

A landmark for which to give thanks – and to the team who’ve worked tirelessly for the new parish centre, thank you all.
