St Faith’s Church, Tribe Road, Come and join us for a Christmas Fayre and Coffee morning.  On Saturday 5th December 2015 from 10.00am until 12.00noon.  Stalls, games, raffle light refreshments no admission charge.

Hosted by St. Mary’s Choir Saturday 5th December 7.00pm Parish Centre – traditional Christmas Dinner plus seasonal songs and fun! – Tickets £12, students £7 from Paul Pilott on Sundays at church or Parish Office, in aid of Choir funds. All welcome when we pack the Parish Centre for this happy evening.

Full steam ahead. Bring your friends along – all the 79 trees now allocated and 900 musicians! A very moving celebration which prompts 700+ prayer requests from over 3000 visitors and remembers so many loved ones.

LYTCH GATE GARLANDS – cuttings tomorrow!
Greenery is needed to create these magnificent decorations. In particular, if you could provide cuttings of any of the following they would be most welcome: Osmanthus, Eleagnus, Fir, variegated or plain Ivy not trailing, more bunched, Myrtle variegated or plain, Laurel, Bay, Box, Yew, Holly.  Cuttings need to be a minimum of 14 inches long.  Please place cuttings in black bin liners at the back of the Parish Centre today and tomorrow.

It would be helpful once again this year to have Stewards to assist with the School and Uniformed organisations Carol Services. If you are able to help could you please contact Peter Camp – Thank you

Bishop Christopher has rearranged his diary to be able to visit St.Mary’s on 2nd December at 9.30pm for a special service. The children of Alverstoke CE Junior School (Aided) will be celebrating their new school values of: Sharing God’s Grace with Hope and Love.
Parents and members of the congregation would be welcome to come alone.

The closing date for applications for our new Pioneering Minister Post for Leesland is this week. Please pray for all who may be applying and for wisdom for the Bishop and those involved in interviews on 8th-9th December. The candidates will ‘view’ the parish on 8th December. Pray too for St.Faith’s at the hub of this new ministry and for the Leesland school and community.

You’d always be welcome at Cornerstone Bookshop (Bemisters Lane) in Gosport, but should you be able to get along then Val McKinley is going to host a monthly bookstall over coffee at St.Mary’s. This Sunday with many books for Christmas.

Today GOSPORT STREET PASTORS   We welcome Brian Cossins and team with their Street Pastors presentation at 9.15am and 10.45am today. Please chat to them and take the information they bring as we’re invited to support and pray for this special ministry in our town.

New to ALVERSTOKE – you need the ALPHABET!
St.Mary’s has published a wonderful coffee table book called THE ALVERSTOKE ALPHABET.
It makes a great gift for Christmas. A display copy can be seen at the back of St.Mary’s today alongside wrapped copies. If you like it you are welcome to take one (or more!) on trust and then pay £15 per copy to the Parish Office during the week.
