Very relaxed, friendly and by which we’ll simply introduce the next Alpha Course with the film: Is there more to life than this? Try ALPHA – Ideal for LENT 2018
Members of the autumn course will be helping and invite you to join them as we look forward to hosting a new Alpha Course starting with an informal supper on Thursday 15th February. The first weeks to Easter of the newly published course will afford a very good Lent Course for any however long we’ve been coming to church, who want to explore faith, Jesus, the cross and resurrection, prayer and the Bible in anticipation of Easter. Includes an optional Saturday away day on 17th March. From 7.15pm on Thursday evenings in the Parish Centre from 15th Feb.

LADIES’ NIGHT OUT 31st January
SMILE (our St.Mary’s Informal Ladies Evening) invite all women for either a meal or just a drink at the Cocked Hat pub on 31st January from 7.30pm. If you can join us for a great and relaxing ladies night out then please RSVP or tell the Parish Office so Emma can reserve some tables – hope you can come!

Working Towards a New Parish Centre
THANK YOU for having now raised an amazing £30,000!
Architect’s plans continue to be developed by the Regeneration team following support for the principal after a pre-planning submission to GCC. it is hoped to have a public consultation and launch of the plans this Spring when we should more clearly be able to grasp the vision. In the meantime the fundraising team continue to be busy and ask us to support them…

The next social fund raiser for the new Parish Centre is our Beetle Drive with Fish ’n Chips on Sat.10th February at 7.00pm in the Parish Centre. Tickets £10 from the office to include Fish ’n Chips and pudding. Hope you can come.

Waitrose has a green token box this month for the regeneration of our parish centre so if you’re shopping there please vote for us.

COFFEE, CAKE & CO. This Tuesday
Make our monthly coffee mornings even better by joining us to raise funds for the new Parish Centre on 23rd January. Every 4th Tuesday of the month from 10.30am-noon in the Parish Centre. £2.50 for coffee and cake. Cakes & books for sale. Also on 27th Feb and 27th March. Bring friends and spread the word… Last year the coffee mornings alone raised over £3000 towards the Parish Centre Regeneration Fund – thank you to all concerned.

TRAIDCRAFT STALL in St.Mary’s this Sunday morning.

St.Mary’s will be ablaze with candles on 4th Feb. If you would like to donate the cost of a Candlemas candle in memory of a loved one whose name will then be entered in the Candlemas Memorial Book (that stands by the piano), please complete the form at the back of St.Mary’s and return it to the Parish Office with your £3 per name – thank you.

Listening to readers at school is a fun and informal way to serve our community and build on the great relationship between the schools and the church. Volunteers offer an hour or two a week to help children read! If interested please contact Rev Tim Watson stating Infants, Juniors or both!
