MESSY CHURCH for Good Friday
A request for Jam Jar with lids please to be left in Parish Cen-tre. One’s with wide tops please in order to make miniature Easter Gardens (like ships in a bottle!). More helpers, including men, are sought for the day – please contact Kay Howard if you can join in.

The official AGM of the parish is to be held on Tuesday 17th April at 7.00pm in St.Mary’s Church. Optional ‘Compline’ pray-ers will follow after the end of the APCM in the Chapel. Elec-tions for Churchwardens, four members of the Parochial Church Council and, this year, one member to Deanery Synod will be held in the context of reports, accounts and reflection from 2017.

You can express belonging to a local CofE congregation through ‘Church Electoral Roll’. It even gives you a vote at the annual meetings – so why not sign up? Application Forms are at the back of church to be re-turned to Sue in The Parish Office. In fact you can belong to more than one Electoral Roll and don’t even have to be an ‘an-glican’ as it is about this parish rather than the CofE! Applica-tion closure date is 2nd April, two weeks before APCM.

Do you lead or share in church group? Then reports up to A5 size of 2017 church life welcome to the Parish Office by 8th April.

Our thanks to those who are at the end of their term and have served us on PCC and Synod for the past three years: David McKinlay, Philip Dray, Betty Baird, Sarah Savery. Could you serve on the PCC or Deanery Synod? We need to appoint 4 members to PCC for 3 years, 1 member to Deanery Synod in-cluding PCC for 2 years. Nomination forms for these rolls can be found at the back of St.Mary’s. The PCC meets on Tues-days, bi-monthly from January. In addition we shall be appoint-ing our two churchwardens who are willing to stand again.

Join us for another visit to Whitehill Chase in Borden, a lovely house set in 5 acres of peaceful grounds and home to the Acorn Christian Healing Trust. The quietness and space draw us into a deeper sense of God’s presence allowing us to experience his love and goodness. Service of Healing and Wholeness, 11.30am. Optional lunch at 1pm (donations welcome on the day). The Acorn Prayer team is available for personal prayer during the afternoon. Meeting 10am, Parish centre and sharing cars to drive to Borden, home by around 4pm. Contact Diana Dow (02392 528122).
