THY KINGDOM COME 10th-20th May
The Archbishops are again calling us to ten days of prayer from week of 10th-20th May. Prayer Journey leaflets are available in church both for adults and also for children with ten prayers for self on one side and a matching prayer for others on the other. Check for ideas.

For ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ – the national call to prayer by the Archbishops, you’re invited to join Revd Andy to ‘beat the bounds’ in prayer on Weds 16th May starting at GAFIRS at 6.30pm.
The weekly daytime Lent prayer walks were very encouraging – others may be free of an evening for all or just part of the walk.

There is lots happening in the next few weeks:
19th May 6.30-8.00pm the youth group down at the beach meeting at Stokes Bay play equipment.
24th May 3.30 – 5.30pm Messy Church when our theme is the Great commission and we have fantastic crafts & games planned!
Parenting for Faith is a fantastic 8 week opportunity to get together and think about the way we impact the lives of the children we are involved with.  Its not just for parents but godparents, grandparents too – anyone who plays a key role in the lives of young people.  I’m looking for a group who would like to come together to pilot this… please see Jo Northey if you are interested!
Advance notice – 22nd July at the end of the school year we will be having a special celebration in Church Alive followed by a Picnic together at the Parish centre for all the folk and families we encounter through our different groups.

Libby’s cycle challenge has moved to the moved to 7th July for a 30 miles cycle around the New Forest. Libby Norris & Claire Coates invite you to join them with a shared group sponsorship for our new Africa Partnerships in Ghana and Kenya. If interested in joining them please have a word with Claire or Libby.

Many Thanks to the ‘Friends’ for their support of St.Mary’s church building over the past year. We’re blessed with a beautiful church that is cared for and kept in such good condition by the generosity of the Friends who hosted their AGM last night (Saturday).

FUNERAL for Kay Lancaster
Please remember Kay’s children Helen, Frances and David as they prepare for her funeral Thanksgiving to be in St.Mary’s on 15th May at 2.00pm. Tea & Cake will follow in the Parish Centre – if you’re able to bake a cake to bring along then that would be very kind.

DID YOU KNOW? St.Mark’s Churchyard Party
We’re grateful to Roy & Penny Harris who co-ordinate the Friends of St.Mark’s Churchyard in the care of the lovely memorial garden for the parish. They invite all hands to a work party on Saturday 26th May from 2.00pm-4.00pm – all welcome. Please bring your hand tools and enjoy our ‘secret’ garden on St.Mark’s Road.

There are now 200 people on the collage in St.Mary’s celebrating the fellowship we share. Please add a passport sized photograph of yourself and let’s see if we can get up to 250 folk! We hope to make a church postcard from the collage in the autumn. Please note: you are always welcome to remove your photo if you no longer want it to be on the collage.

We’re so grateful for all that is so faithfully given in support of the ministry and mission of the church in the parish – thank you. In addition to your gifts to our ongoing work at St.Mary’s, St.Francis’, St.Faith’s and St.Luke’s, many also give faithfully towards our special projects like the Parish Centre Regeneration, Shaping The Future, our Africa Partnership and our Families Minister; thank you.
The PCC received the accounts for the first quarter of 2018 which do show that we’ll have a challenging year for the main income account which at this stage projects a deficit of about £5,000. Hence, if there are any newer folk who may be able to consider joining our Parish Giving Scheme then please take a scheme leaflet from the back of St.Mary’s – thank you.

This sheet is sent by email as pdf each Friday; sign up on website.
We keep in touch every Friday through our very secure weekly
