Plan now to join us for Alpha this Autumn!
We’re going to acquire the new and updated Alpha Course DVDs for our next course which shall start on Wednesday 4th October. Please make plans now to join us for what shall be a very inspiring exploration of faith in Jesus. Who could you invite to come along with you?

We look forward to welcoming Bishop Christopher on Sunday 26th November for a special morning service including adult Baptism/Confirmation. Confirmation ‘expresses the laying on of hands’ after Baptism for the renewal of the Holy Spirit. The prayer said is ‘Confirm O Lord your servant with the Holy Spirit’. Like Pentecost, it is a wonderful celebration of faith, trust and the abiding life of God within us. Please have a word with the clergy if you’d be interested in getting Confirmed or Baptised on that occasion. For teenagers and adults this does require preparation. This entails the autumn Alpha Course for adults whilst Tim & Clare Watson will host a group for secondary school aged youth. Think about it now and have a word with the clergy for more information.

‘Save our Centre’ DATES FOR THE DIARY:
6th October – Concert in the Church with the HMS Collingwood Volunteer Band, and the Military Wives’ Choir (Portsmouth) also the Thorngate Panto and Variety Players with Felicity Bryant.  Tickets July from Parish Office.
21st October – Quiz & Supper Night
25th November – Barn Dance at Bay House
Let us pray – for St.Faith’s and Tim Watson’s pioneer ministry for the area around Leesland. With plans for a Toddler Group about to start and with the encouragement to the congregation with 20 worshippers last Thursday having doubled since Easter! The new service is settling down nicely. At the invitation of GBC Youth Council, Tim hosted a vigil in the Falklands Gardens last week for Manchester.

‘Readers’ are fully licensed Ministers in the parish. They undertake similar training to the ordained ministers and are licensed to both a preaching and teaching ministry, and a pastoral and leadership ministry in the parish. Very much like the ‘vicars’ Readers can undertake most ministries in the parish expect presiding at communion and being registrars at weddings. Please pray for our team of Readers:
Darren Clarke (also Gosport’s Sub-Dean of Readers);
Susan Smith (starting to help Pioneering a bit more);
Paddy Trasler completing her third year of training and to be licensed on 23rd September;
Diana Dow who is a retired Reader with special Permission To Officiate (PTO) – focussing especially upon her regional Acorn Christian Healing Trust work too!
Clare Watson – please also pray for Clare whom we are sponsoring for the Reader Selection Conference this summer in the hope that she will be able to start Reader training in September.
