It’s timely to welcome Traidcraft back today when our 9.15am
service shall explore the special theme of: God’s World in our Hands. With Climate Change so much in the media, why not invite someone to join you at this service? They may not know that the Church of England’s mission is to ‘Strive to Safeguard the integrity of Creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth’.

ST.MARY’S JUNIOR SAILING CLUB Next Sat
The 45 young sailors in our church sailing club are celebrating the end of a good season on the creek, sailing each weekend, at their season end ‘Laying Up Supper’ next Saturday when awards for their progress will be presented – including our special Dee Caffari silver globe trophy (given by round the world sailor Dee who is our church club President). Congratulations to all our sailors and thanks to the many volunteers who help us serve the young people in this way which makes such a difference to young people’s confidence, self-esteem and belonging.
ADULT BAPTISM & RENEWAL of FAITH 20th
Please join us next Sunday at 10.45am to celebrate with those who are taking the momentous step of being baptised and others who are renewing their faith. Let us all be there as a church to formally welcome them in to the fellowship we share in Christ. So please pray for Ness and for Andrew along with those others who’ll renew commitment to Christ with the words:

MESSY CHURCH 24th October
Children and their adults are invited for crafts, games, story, songs, worship and a hot cooked tea from 3.30pm in Parish Centre. Messy Church want to re-use your plastic bottles so if you’re able to pop them in to the Parish Centre that would be great – thank you.
VISIT TO WINCHESTER CATHEDRAL 31st Oct
St.Mary’s Choir will sing Choral Evensong in Winchester Cathedral at 5.30pm on Thurs 31st October. We are always delighted to have friends from the Parish who would like to join us for these special services. Enquiries to Paul Pilott

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 10th November
Please note that our morning service times change for Remembrance. Instead of both 9.15am and 10.45am we have one single Remembrance Service in St.Mary’s starting at 10.30am. It includes the laying of wreaths at the significant parish memorial. St.Francis’ Church also gather earlier at 10.45am for an act of Remembrance.

We are running a Light Party on 31st October for families in the Parish centre. If there are any folk who can help me either set up (4.30pm-5.00pm) and clear up (6.30pm-7.00pm) or in running the party (5.00pm-6.30pm) then I’d be pleased to hear from you. I am also looking borrow lots of LED fairy lights or bright items that we can decorate the hall with. If you feel you can help then please see Kate Many Thanks.
