MEN’S NIGHT CONTROLLED BURN!
Or in traditional language – a bonfire with fish n’ chips.
Parish Centre on Wednesday 9th November at 1930 to burn off all the tree trimmings from last week’s men’s breakfast! If any can also arrive earlier at 3.00pm we shall cut out the turf to make a tidy fire pit. Suitably attired for smoke with gloves, garden forks, clippers etc.
Place your fish ’n chips order on the night.

A week early due to half-term! On Thursday 20th October from 3.30pm in the Parish Centre. All families welcome, for children with their adults to enjoy Bible themed craft & games, story & songs, all ending with a hot cooked tea! Please join us.

CHOIR @ PORTSMOUTH CATHEDRAL
The choir invite you to join them as they sing Choral Evensong at the Cathedral on Thursday 27th October at 6.00pm. As the Visiting Choir they’d be delighted for friends from the parish to join them.

‘PILGRIMS’ this Autumn with Christianity Explored
Our midweek church offers explorations in either John’s Gospel or the ‘Going Deeper’ series on ‘Forgiveness’. Each Thursday starting at 7.15pm in the Parish Centre, all welcome. Fellowship, Worship and Learning. Now also offering ‘Christianity Explored’.

BIBLE FELLOWSHIP GROUPS (BFG)
regularly meet in homes or the Parish Centre for friendship and chatting, Bible study and discussion, prayer and reflection.   The groups offer significant encouragement in faith and support in life. You’d be very welcome to join a group that suites you.

Today TRAIDCRAFT STALL
In St.Mary’s after the 0930 and Church Alive services. Hosted by Pete & Julie Fieldsend who have taken up representing Traidcraft for us. We have coffee, tea, biscuits and one or two other products which we’re trying, along with catalogues for people to browse and order in time for Christmas – our next stall will be Sun 20 Nov.

BOOKSTALL Next Week
A good selection of books from Cornerstone Bookshop – including ideas for Christmas – will be in St.Mary’s over morning coffee next Sunday; by Val & Dave McKinley.

MONDAY TODDLER’S GROUP – HELP!
We’re delighted for Jo Fryer our Toddler Groups leader on being appointed to a new job. But, it leaves our 1.30pm Monday Toddler Group in the Parish Centre leaderless as of 31st October! If anyone is able to stand in and cover a few weeks then your help would be greatly appreciated whilst we plan for the future. Please have a word with the clergy, churchwardens or Libby Norris – thank you.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL STEWARDS
This years Christmas Tree Festival takes place on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December 2016. As in previous years we are asking for volunteers to help make the event another huge success. If you are able to act as a Steward for this event would you please email  Liz Finch at lizbrightsparks@hotmail.com – thank you.

A DEMENTIA FRIENDLY GROUP
Cessac House (The Redan off Fort Road) hosts a special group on the first Monday of each month from 2.00pm- 4.00pm. An open invitation is extended by Nerys Blackburn who is the Dementia Team Leader/Advisor.

FOOD BASKET in St.Mary’s
All year long a basket at the back of St.Mary’s welcomes any provisions to support local homeless young people in the care of the Accommodation Resource Centre.
For that extra tin of beans etc in your groceries we are very grateful – thank you.

We continue to pray for Kim & Ann in the congregation, and Kim’s sister Jenny as they make arrangements for Jean’s service of thanksgiving at 12 noon on Friday 21st October in St.Mary’s following a morning cremation.
