From Kate, Families Minister:
LIGHT PARTY HELPERS
We are running a Light Party on 31st October for families in the Parish centre. If there are any folk who can help me either set up (4.30pm-5.00pm) and clear up (6.30pm-7.00pm) or in running the party (5.00pm-6.30pm) then I’d be pleased to hear from you. I am also looking borrow lots of LED fairy lights or bright items that we can decorate the hall with. Many Thanks, Kate.
Although they don’t need to and due to circumstances, Jane & Huw Jones offer apologies for not organising a countryside church walk this autumn. But say they have two good walks planned for the Spring and Autumn 2020. We’re grateful to them for planning our walks and look forward to the Spring walk and lunch.
COMMUNION at HOME
If you know anyone who is no longer able to get to church but would like to receive occasional communion in their own home please let Hazel O’Sullivan know
DID YOU COME BY CAR THIS MORNING?
We have a number of people (all ages) who are going to find getting to church difficult as the winter weather arrives. Currently some use taxis and buggies or don’t make it at all. Can you offer to perhaps go a little out of your way to help – maybe even get the car out once a month if you usually walk – 9.15 and 10.45 services? The church can’t organise a rota for legal reasons but if you let Hazel O’Sullivan know that you either need or can offer a lift we’ll try to put you in touch. Many thanks – this is a very visible witness to Christian community.
PRAYER CARE Every Sunday
Just a reminder that members of our prayer team are available to pray with anyone privately and confidentially about any matter from 10.15am-10.45am; behind the screen at the front of the church. You can also leave prayer requests (please respect confidentiality) on the Prayer Tree near the Chapel.
HAVE YOU GOT A BADGE ON?
We encourage all at St.Mary’s to wear a name badge. You may like to make one at home or just make one at the table at the back of St.Mary’s when you arrive – thank you.
WOULD YOU LIKE A PERMANENT BADGE MAKING FOR YOU?
If you fill in the slip and pop it in the small box at the back then Hilary Wilson has kindly offered to make proper badges. Thank you to Hilary.
DID YOU KNOW?
They’re very profound, but did you know that the Five Marks of Mission of the anglican church, the reason ‘why’ we’re church are…
The mission of the Church is the mission of Christ:
To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
To respond to human need by loving service
To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation
To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth.
