Working Towards a New Parish Centre…
Great News… We’ve submitted our plans to GBC to seek planning permission!
Thank you to the regeneration team who have brought us to this significant moment over four years of work! Please now pray for this process that the outcomes would be in keeping with the Lord’s will – if that should be for a new centre to be provided to serve our community for the years ahead.

From Kate, Families Minister:
LIGHT PARTY HELPERS NEEDED
We are running a Light Party on 31st October for families in the Parish centre. If there are any folk who can help me either set up (4.30pm-5.00pm) and clear up (6.30pm-7.00pm) or in running the party (5.00pm-6.30pm) then I’d be pleased to hear from you. I am also looking borrow lots of LED fairy lights or bright items that we can decorate the hall with. If you feel you can help then please see Kate or call her. Many Thanks.
HARVEST THANK YOU
Both to the members of the Flower Guild for decorating St.Mary’s so beautifully with Sun Flowers, and also to all who’ve donated groceries and toiletries for the Food & Basics Bank – you’re gifts are very much appreciated. We can’t believe that the food bank has served 5000 people over the past year – thank you so much!
CHURCH LIFE IS INVITATIONAL
We’d like to ask regular worshippers to invite someone to worship or one of our activities this month. We have to choose to do this or that invite may just not happen – remember, you’ll be extending Jesus’ invitation and welcome to them! We all love to be invited to things, and the same is true for many people who’d come to church if only someone invited them! Please pray and consider who can you invite to join you this October? The postcards should help.
Please take and use the new invitational postcards and invite someone along. There are two.
CONNECTING PEOPLE and CREATING COMMUNITY.
Connecting People is green and highlights the drop-in midweek activities and Sunday worship which focus on adults and seniors.
Creating Community is blue and highlights our activities and worship more focussed upon families and children.
NEW HOPE MAGAZINE
Following the success of the Easter Hope magazine we have 250 copies of the autumn magazine for you to give to a friend (even if you enjoy reading it first!).
We hope you find the new postcards and Hope mag to be helpful as you continue ‘Talking Jesus’ and sharing his love in the parish for our many groups are offering great hope and comfort to people. Thank you, because they are reliant upon your invitation to join in.
ST.FAITH’S, LEESLAND & LNC
St.Faith’s is very busy these days and is an active hub in Leesland. It has been smartened up with new internal walls creating a much needed store. New signage will soon appear and increased use sees the back garden now called ‘The Glade’. It affords an excellent centre from which Leesland Neighbourhood Church operates.
PLEASE WEAR A NAME BADGE TODAY!
WOULD YOU LIKE A PERMANENT BADGE MAKING FOR YOU?
If you fill in the slip and pop it in the small box at the back of St.Mary’s then Hilary Wilson has kindly offered to make proper badges. Thank you Hilary.
SCAFFOLDING IN ST.MARY’S
Work continues in the chapel arches where the quality of carpentry is fabulous in the oak ‘frames’ being installed for the glazing. Once templates are made then the glass will be prepared. It’s slow but thank you for your patience as we await completion of this beautiful and beneficial project. Please take care around the scaffolding.
