TODAY’S HARVEST GIFTS
of GROCERIES & TOILETRIES
We celebrate Harvest this morning and worshippers are invited to offer gifts of imperishable groceries and of toiletries at all services in support of the Gosport & Fareham Food Bank; thank you so much… and don’t forget that there’s a basket at the back each week during the year for donations of those valued items at any time, thank you.
HEALING & WHOLENESS Tonight
Our service at 6.30pm this evening has a focus on reflection, prayers and opportunity to seek God’s grace for peace, reconciliation, healing and wholeness in our lives or for those for whom we pray. Don’t be ‘shy’ to come either for yourself or for someone else. In the service will the purely optional, but dignified opportunity to light a candle, place petals in the font, have formal anointing, to pray or just to remain comfortable whilst the choir sing. All welcome to this gentle and reflective service.

Working Towards a New Parish Centre…
Great News… This week we submitted our plans to GBC to seek planning permission!
Thank you to the regeneration team who have brought us to this significant moment over four years of work! Please now pray for this process that the outcomes would be in keeping with the Lord’s will – if that should be for a new centre to be provided to serve our community for the years ahead.
Although we’ve spent sums to get to this point we are just shy of having raised an ‘overall’ total of £100,000. This is remarkable – we’re so grateful and invite you to the events below to see if we can raise the final £3,000 to tip this over the century by the end of 2019!

Acts 4v32: ‘“they did not claim their possessions as their own, but they shared everything they had… in God’s grace.”
NEW POSTCARDS & MAGAZINE:
Please take and use the new invitational postcards. There are two.
CONNECTING PEOPLE and CREATING COMMUNITY.
Connecting People is green and highlights the drop-in midweek activities and Sunday worship which focus on adults and seniors.
Creating Community is blue and highlights our activities and worship more focussed upon families and children.
Following the success of the Easter Hope magazine we have 250 copies of the autumn magazine for you to give to a friend (even if you enjoy reading it first!).
We hope you find the new postcards and Hope mag to be helpful as you continue ‘Talking Jesus’ and sharing his love in the parish for our many groups are offering great hope and comfort to people. Thank you, because they are reliant upon your invitation to join in.
From Kate, Families Minister:
“We are running a Light Party on 31st October for families in the Parish centre and I am looking to see if I can borrow lots of LED fairy lights or bright items that the team and I can decorate the hall with. If you feel you can help then please see Kate to arrange collection. Many Thanks.
Thanks to all the folk that gave up their time to make the Michaelmas 10p Fete a success. Please pray that the conversations and flyers that went out will draw folk to Jesus and people will feel a sense of community at St Mary’s. Thank you, Kate.”
PLEASE WEAR A NAME BADGE TODAY!
At the start of a new autumn season we’d encourage all at St.Mary’s to wear a name badge for Sept/Oct. You may like to make one at home or, when you arrive, just make one at the table at the back of St.Mary’s – thank you.
WOULD YOU LIKE A PERMANENT BADGE MAKING FOR YOU?
If you fill in the slip and pop it in the small box at the back then Hilary Wilson has kindly offered to make proper badges. Thank you Hilary.
