MEN’S TAKE AWAY NIGHT – A.Men   1st Feb

Gents are invited to join us for our next church men’s night – we call ourselves A.Men (for Alverstoke Men!).   A Take Away evening hosted at Kim Beazely’s home (9 Peel Road PO12 1JS).  We had a great time there before when each can order whatever type of take away you fancy upon arrival at 7.00pm.  If you’re on a New Year’s health campaign and would rather not eat then we’d still love to see you for a drink in friendship!  So, gents, come along and please also bring your own drink of choice.  Just turn up, tho’ if you know you’re coming then signing the list at the back of St.Mary’s would help us have confidence with numbers – thanks.

CHRISTINGLE at ST.MARY’S 3rd Feb     Join us at 10.45am next Sunday on 3rd February for our beautiful intergenerational Christingle service as  we celebrate the light of Jesus for all nations at  Candlemas when St.Mary’s will be ablaze with candles and white flowers.

NEHEMIAH SERMON SERIES

In the light of the Gosport strategic development of parishes (about which we are waiting to hear!) we shall be exploring the story of Nehemiah in our sermons over five Sundays from 20th January (excepting Candlemas).  Asking the questions:

27th Jan: How do I tackle a difficult job?

10th Feb: How do I work well with others?

17th Feb: How do I defeat discouragement?

24th Feb: What are the steps to spiritual renewal?

GOSPORT PLAN at BISHOP’S COUNCIL

Please pray for the Bishop, Archdeacon Gavin and members of the Bishop’s Council this week as they meet to decide upon the strategic plans including our parish boundaries in Gosport; and for our sister parishes across Gosport and their congregations.
