CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him
Immanuel – which means “God with us.” (Matt 1v23)

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL
This weekend we’re appreciating all the guests coming to see the trees, hear the music, offer a prayer and find sanctuary in all the busyness of Advent. Outside of services the £3 adult admission applies.

This weekend ENJOY THE FESTIVAL CAFE
Please come and enjoy coffee and cake, a luncheon or
afternoon tea in the Parish Centre during the festival.
Our excellent cafe is open each day and run by the fabulous team to whom we are grateful.

Felling the Trees!
Any help to remove the trees at 9.30am
on Monday morning would be very much
appreciated; thank you.

Christmas Tree Sale
Later on Monday morning about 20 good trees are
usually left over and are available at the Parish Office for a donation or thereafter by arrangement with the Office.

DID YOU KNOW? 4 Billion Pine Needles
Each Christmas Tree is an amazing act of God’s creation with an estimated average of some 50 million pine needles per tree. That means there are 4,250,000,000 pine needles in St.Mary’s (+/- 50 or 60 needles!).
We’re grateful to the team who will be sweeping up about
1 trillion of them on Monday!
THANK YOU to our dedicated festival making team led by Rob Hamilton with Peter Camp overseeing electrical safety for the lights, Angie Jones coordinating 700 performers, Carol Workman and team in the café, Liz Finch and the stewards, and so many more with publicity, setting up, ordering trees, etc. A massive task and huge thank you to Rob and all who have joined in to deliver a wonderful Christmas Tree festival for the parish – thank you.

2500 NEW YEAR’s Come Again CARDS…
All members please make use of the Welcome back cards to give out to our 10,000 guests as they leave all of St.Mary’s Advent and Christmas events and services! Thank you.

CHRISTMAS CARDS DELIVERY Thanks
Thank you to all who helped deliver so many Christmas cards this year – an amazing job done. We’re grateful and pray that all those homes may be blessed by your effort
offering greetings and prayers in the name of the Lord.

JOURNEY OF THE MAGI 16th December
Tickets directly available from Liz Finch at St.Mary’s.
A Christmas Spectacular from Springs Dance Company. Members of our church have enjoyed this production before and we sought to host it here – but our platform is too small – so St.Faith’s in Lee are hosting this remarkable, joyful and moving telling of the Christmas story for all to enjoy. Saturday 16 December, 7pm, at St Faith’s Church, Lee-on-the-Solent. Adults £8, children £4 from St.Faith’s Office on 023 9255 6445 or from Liz Finch at St.Mary’s.

NEXT SUNDAY CAROL PRAISE & NATIVITY
Children are invited to come dressed as their favourite
nativity characters to the Carol Praise & (scratch!) Nativity Service. But a note to Parents just to say that we have
already asked one child to play the actual part of Mary!
