CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE IN AUGUST!
It is with regret that the groups for children and teenagers will be more limited at St.Mary’s on Sunday mornings during the school holidays. No group at 9.15am and ‘amalgamated’ activity at Church Alive – creche area continues.
THE PARISH CENTRE COMPOST HEAP!!
The centre management committee would like to clear away the unsightly compost heap. If there is anyone who would be kind to volunteer for this during August (bags provided – to be filled and taken to tip or elsewhere?) then your help would be much appreciated. Please see Sue in the Office. Thank you very much indeed
MICHAELMAS FAYRE ‘10p Messy Fun Fete’
As co-hosts with Gosport Rotary, St.Mary’s will be involved with the Michaelmas Fayre on 30th September. Please join us to help express God’s love through the hospitality offered at St.Mary’s on that day. In addition to the church being open with music & possible concert at night, this year we shall also host a 10p Messy Kids Fun Fete along the church pathway. We’ve a dozen exciting games, crafts and activities all at 10p or free. Being co-ordinated by Kay Howard, Chris Richardson and Libby Norris; please sign up to help when the list of stalls appears soon – thank you.
ADULT BAPTISM & CONFIRMATION
We look forward to welcoming Bishop Christopher on Sunday 26th November for a special service including adult Baptism/Confirmation.
Confirmation ‘expresses the laying on of hands’ after Baptism for the renewal of the Holy Spirit. Like Pentecost, it’s a wonderful celebration of faith, trust and the abiding life of God within us. Please have a word with the clergy if you’d be interested in getting Confirmed or Baptised.
For teenagers and adults this does require preparation,
entailing the Alpha Course for adults whilst Tim & Clare
Watson will host a group for teens.
THE PRAYER CHAIN exists to support those needing prayer through a confidential network of caring parishioners. Please contact Sue Stacey on 023 92 583167.
St.Mary’s is hosting a thanksgiving service for Wendy MacLennan on Friday 18th Aug at 3.00pm; a neighbour to the church in Stokehurst (Old Rectory) for over 30 years.

COMPILING A CHRISTIAN POETRY BOOKLET
Some of you are gifted in writing spiritual poetry and prose which can offer such inspired encouragement from the Lord. Sarah Savery (usually at both 9.15am & 10.45am) would be pleased to hear from you as she seeks to compile a simple book of poems from among the congregations and in
support of the new parish centre.
