THANK YOU TO THE PAINTERS!
With most paint making it to the walls we are vey grateful to the painters who decorated the Parish Centre Hall yesterday morning – thank you for an excellent job done.
Let us pray – A final week with our prayer station in the Chapel in St.Mary’s, or to read the Archbishops’ Pastoral Letter found at the back of church.
ST.FAITH’S & PIONEERING
Let us pray – for St.Faith’s and Tim Watson’s pioneer ministry for the area around Leesland. With plans for a Toddler Group about to start and with the encouragement to the congregation with 20 worshippers last Thursday having doubled since Easter! The new service is settling down nicely. At the invitation of GBC Youth Council, Tim hosted a vigil in the Falklands Gardens last week for Manchester.
THE PRAYER CHAIN
exists to support those needing prayer through a confidential network of caring parishioners. Please contact Sue Stacey on 023 92 583167.
FLOWERS FOR SPECIAL EVENTS

DID YOU KNOW? THE COLLECT & LECTIONARY
The prayer we call the Collect of the Day and print each week on this sheet is simply that – a prayer which collects together the theme of the lectionary Bible readings. Many Collects can be very old having been prayed for centuries. Our Bible readings are generally drawn from the Common Lectionary which is a plan chosen by most church denominations to lead us through the Bible in three years known as Years A, B or C! We sometimes use different readings when we have a special preaching series or themed services. There are readings for every day of the year for morning and evening prayer and communion, plus a psalm. A Lectionary booklet can be found in the Chapel in St.Mary’s on the prayer table with the Bibles and Daily Prayer books.
