SERVING & GIVING
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father… encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
(2 Thessolonians 2 v 16 -17)
Take the November LEAFLET TODAY
Three key themes emerged during our special days of prayer last Lent. From this we explored Reconciliation in the Spring whilst during October we sought to grow in Thankfulness. Now, in November we’re exploring how we are best placed to serve God’s kingdom.
How would you like to serve? Please make sure you take a copy of our November leaflet: SHARING IN THE LIFE OF OUR CHURCH. It complements the congregational letter from October, thank you.

HOVERAID
We’re pleased to welcome David Wiltshire at our 9.15am service to tell us about serving remote Madagascan communities with aid and development – please see David after the service at the display. www.uk.hoveraid.org

CARDS FOR ETHIOPIA TODAY
Two of our young people – Kate and Lotti – have made Christmas Cards to sell over coffee at St.Mary’s TODAY in aid of Healthier Futures for Women and Girls in Ethiopia. Then on 4th Dec they shall be ‘busking’ outside St.Mary’s (inside if wet!) – the girls will be grateful of your coins in their hat at that time, thank you!

ADVENT CAROL SERVICE – bake a cake?
Next Sunday 27th November at 6.30pm in St.Mary’s. We’re hosting the Gosport Deanery Advent Carol Service with a large choir. Please join us to celebrate and welcome all our guests at this significant service. Can you make a cake for that celebration? That would be greatly appreciated as well as delicious – thank you.

PARISH CHRISTMAS CARDS DELIVERY
Your neighbours need you! Three Sundays to go to the Christmas Tree Festival before which we have 5000 Christmas invitation cards to deliver to all the homes of the parish. Can you please take street bundles of cards to deliver over the next fortnight? Why not deliver to your neighbours – or pick up a few other streets and help us cover the whole parish with a heartfelt invitation (and prayers as you go!). The cards are in ‘street’ bundles at the back of church – thank you very much indeed.

TRAIDCRAFT STALL TODAY
In St.Mary’s after the 0930 and Church Alive services on Sunday 20th November and 18th December.

BOOKSTALLS for Christmas

As in previous years we are asking for volunteers to help make the event another huge success. If you are able to act as a Steward for this event would you please email  Liz Finch at lizbrightsparks@hotmail.com – thank you.

STEWARDS FOR CAROL SERVICES

PARISH NEWS MAGAZINE Dec/Jan Don’t miss out on our monthly magazine (600 editions!). Order one at the Parish Office to be delivered to your home each month. The Dec edition will also extend to January, so any articles for both months this week please to the Parish Office, thank you.

DID YOU KNOW? THE ALVERSTOKE TRUST
The Trust exists for the relief of those in need in the parish – can we help someone you may know? The trust can make small grants (typically £100-£200) to parish residents facing time of need, hardship or distress. Please check the Alverstoke Trust page on the parish website for more details or contact the Parish Office.
