We seek for October to be a month of Thanksgiving. It started with our Harvest Thanksgivings to God – but now let’s seek thankfulness to God for each other to be a hallmark of our church life this month. For each person sharing in the life of our church – thank you!

RUSSIAN MALE VOICE CHOIR CONCERT
Members of the church were so impressed on a recent cultural trip to Russia that the result is a concert here in St.Mary’s on Tuesday 11th October at 7.00pm. Come and hear The Voronezh Male Voice Choir, chief conductor Tatyana Izhogina, who are visiting England to celebrate the life of Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh. The programme at St. Mary’s will range from sacred music by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and other Russian and Ukrainian composers plus folklore pieces. Tickets £10.
PARISH BARN DANCE
Everyone can enjoy a good old barn dance. Come and share the joy of the evening for all in our Brodrick Hall on Saturday 29th October at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 (to include supper) available at the church office, or email email@example.com.

CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED COURSE
What is the best news you have ever heard? For the first time we shall host a Christianity Explored course in the parish – take an invitation card, please come along and bring a friend to explore the questions of faith and life. Starts Thurs 6th October in the Parish Centre from 7.15pm – hosted by Andy & Libby Norris.
We shall look forward to a visit by Bishop Christopher in 2017 for Baptism & Confirmation. If there are any folk who may be interested in working towards this then our new Christianity Explored is the place to start. Details as above – you’d be very welcome to come along.
‘PILGRIMS’ this Autumn
Our midweek church offers explorations in either John’s Gospel or the ‘Going Deeper’ series on ‘Forgiveness’. Each Thursday starting at 7.15pm in the Parish Centre, all welcome. Fellowship, Worship and Learning.
‘Christianity Explored’ will offer a third option in October.
GROWING A HEALING MINISTRY
Registration forms are available from the Parish
Centre or Diana Dow for our ‘Acorn’ course to run for 5 weeks on Oct 9th, 16th, 23rd and Nov 6th and 13th from 4pm to 6pm in the Parish Centre. Please speak to Rev. Andy or Diana Dow if you would like to attend to continue the building of our church into the safe and effective healing community. The course costs £10 – but have a word with Andy if that is difficult.
BIBLE FELLOWSHIP GROUPS (BFG)
regularly meet in homes or the Parish Centre for friendship and chatting, Bible study and discussion, prayer and reflection. The groups offer significant encouragement in faith and support in life. You’d be very welcome to join a group that suites you.
