CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED COURSE
One life. What’s it all about? For the first time we shall host a Christianity Explored course in the parish – take an invitation card, please come along and bring a friend to explore the questions of faith and life. Starts Thurs 6th October in the Parish Centre – hosted by Andy & Libby Norris.

PILGRIMS Bring & Share Supper
Our midweek ‘church’ begins again this Thursday at 7.15pm in the Parish Centre starting with supper, all welcome. Fellowship, Worship and Learning. Join us for an exciting autumn programme which will include three choices of learning/discussion as part of the evenings. One of those options will be the
Christianity Explored course from 6th October.

BIBLE FELLOWSHIP GROUPS (BFG)
regularly meet in homes or the Parish Centre for friendship and chatting, Bible study and discussion, prayer and reflection.   The groups offer significant encouragement in faith and support in life. You’d be very welcome to join a group that suits you. See the website and contact us for more information or you are welcome to be in touch directly with the group leaders to find out more.

Weekly at 9.30am with Marie Anthony & Kay Howard where pre-school children are welcome.

GROWING A HEALING MINISTRY
Registration forms are available from the Parish Centre or Diana Dow for our Acorn Christian Healing Foundation course to run for 5 weeks on October 9th, 16th, 23rd and November 6th and 13th from 4pm to 6pm in the Parish Centre. Please speak to Rev. Andy or Diana Dow if you would like to attend to continue the building of our church into the safe and effective healing community it is called to be as Christ’s body. The course has a cost of £10 – but please have a word with Andy if that is difficult.

HARVEST GIFT DAY 25th September
Across the parish, as our harvest thanksgivings to God we shall: Support our new Ethiopia Christian Aid partnership through gifts of money in envelopes marked ‘Ethiopia’ in addition to offering our
Gifts of Food and Toiletries…
to the local Food Bank which relies upon harvest gifts of imperishable groceries and toiletries – thank you so much for your harvest gifts.

PARISH BARN DANCE
Come and share the joy of a Barn Dance for all in our
Brodrick Hall on Saturday 29th October at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 (to include supper) available at the

Michaelmas COMMUNITY CONCERT
A feast of local musical talent from 7.00pm-9.00pm on 24th September in St.Mary’s. A retiring offering for
St.Mary’s music ministry. Bring flags for our usual proms style patriotic finale led by the Lowry Girls.

Alverstoke MICHAELMAS FAYRE
Saturday 24th September from 12noon-4.00pm around the Parish Centre and in the heart of the village. Join our 27th community event featuring HMS Sultan
Marching Band & Corps of Drums. Supporting many charities and the Parish Centre. Can you help us run the two official fayre and church stalls?

On Tuesday PARISH LUNCH
Carol and the team invite you to come and enjoy a hot lunch in company on Tuesday 13th September
at 12.30pm in the Parish Centre. £6.

St.Mary’s Informal Ladies Evening at The No.6 Cinema, Historic Dockyard on 16th September at 7pm. £10 for an adult, £9 for Seniors. To see ‘Romeo and Juliet’ live broadcast theatre by Kenneth Branagh’s Theatre
Company in black and white. If you’d still like to join the group then please now order your own ticket directly from the cinema and let Charlotte Adams know at

If you are newer to the congregation (or never yet been to the Rectory) then you’re invited to Tea at the Rectory. Please join Andy & Libby Norris and some of the team on Sunday 25th September starting with an optional short walk at 4.00pm or just come for the tea at 4.45pm. We’d love to see you!
