CONGRATULATIONS TO CHRIS
We’re delighted to celebrate with Revd Chris Richardson upon his ordination yesterday. Chris was made a ‘deacon’ last July and, with the laying on of hands by the Bishop yesterday, Chris is now formally a ‘priest’ (whilst always remaining a deacon too!). Chris’s ministry grows by virtue of his presiding for us at communion which he will celebrate for the first time at 9.15am today. It is such a privilege and blessing for us to have Chris & Abbie (with James & Kate) with us in the parish for these 4 years of his ‘Title’ as our Curate. Abbie & Chris, may you continue to know the Lord’s grace as a family and in ministry – congratulations – with special appreciation of Abbie for making it all possible!

SERVING & GIVING
Acts 4v32: ‘they did not claim their possessions as their own, but they shared everything they had… in God’s grace’

GIVE AWAY ‘THE SERVANT QUEEN’ BOOK!
We gave out 200 books to celebrate The Queen’s 90th Birthday on 16th June. They were given for the congregation to pass on to a friend or neighbour as a gift from the church. We hope you’ve enjoyed reading the book and, should you still have it in your possession, now is the time to pass it on as a gift to bless someone else to inspire them by the example of The Queen’s faith!

CONCERT GIFT
Many thanks to Paul Pilott, Louise Helyer and Friends for their fabulous concert last weekend and for raising over £200 towards our Parish Centre funds.

ETHIOPIA PARTNERSHIP LAUNCH DAY
We shall launch our new partnership on Sunday 17th July, to raise £5000 by October 2017 which will then
become £30,000 by EU grant! For women’s wellbeing.

PARISH FINANCES – Thank you
After six months of this year we are grateful to be able to report that our income and expenditure are pretty much breaking even. There are challenges but thanks to your generosity through increased giving and the success of the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) we are grateful to the Lord that we are in a much better position than the ‘cash flow’ melt down we faced last summer (plus projected £40000 deficit!). The Parish Giving Scheme added to Standing Order giving has grown from 98 givers last July to 126 this year whilst the giving has risen from under £4000 per month last July to over £6000 a month this year. In addition others continue to value giving by envelopes and in other ways – it is all greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for this faithfulness!

PARISH GIVING SCHEME
Over time most giving will be through the new Parish Giving Scheme. If you do not yet use it as a means to give then please have a word to discover the benefits over Standing Orders and envelopes. Forms are available at the back of church for this safe and comprehensive scheme which returns tax to us in just 12 days!
