Thank you to the 133 folk who returned a questionnaire about worship at St.Mary’s in March. We had hoped to publish the results as a paper booklet for all to have – but the cost for 300 is high – so it is available in pdf format to print from our website. Some paper copies available at the Parish Office for any who struggle to print one off online – please ask!
CHRIS RICHARDSON’S ORDINATION
Please come along with your prayer and support when Bishop Christopher ordains Chris as a ‘Priest’ in the Cathedral on Saturday 2nd July at 6.00pm. All welcome to this very moving celebration. Chris will first ‘preside’ at communion at 9.15am on 3rd July and we shall celebrate with a picnic lunch for all the family at Stokes Bay that day at 1.00pm.

Our local Scrap Happy quilters are currently displaying their beautiful works at the Quilting Festival in St. Mary’s. Open on Fri/Sat from 10.0am-5.00pm and on Sunday from 12.30pm – 4.00pm. All welcome!
QUEEN’S 90th BIRTHDAY STREET PARTY
NEXT SUNDAY 12 noon – 3.00pm on 12th June in Alverstoke Village Centre around the Chestnut Tree. Tables and seating for 250 – live music, all free. Bring your picnic, find a seat and join our community celebration! Come in your fancy dress! Prize for best children’s fancy dress as judged by our MP, and prize for best ladies hat as judged by the Mayor!

THE PARISH STRAWBERRY LUNCH
Tickets for the Strawberry lunch on Thursday 16th June are now on sale at the Parish Centre and after the morning Sunday services at St Mary’s. The event starts at 12.30. Early birds – £9 until Sunday 12th June and £12 thereafter.
BOWLING FOR THE BOYS!
Calling all chaps along to our next new night out for men on Wednesday 22nd June at 7.30pm meeting at the Boule Pitch (Pétanque/French Bowls) opposite Pebbles Beach Café & Wine Bar. With French flair we’ll rake out the sand pitches and enjoy a tournament.

We shall enjoy a picnic lunch on Sunday 3rd July at 1.00pm (in celebration with Revd Chris). Bring outdoor games and family fun. Weather permitting at Stokes Bay – if wet in the Parish Centre.
SUMMER FAMILIES FUN DAY
Lot’s of fun activities day for families on Saturday 16th July from 2.00-4.00pm at the Parish Centre. £1 child. Over 200 folk joined us last year for all the fun. Ending with a picnic tea on the lawn! Hosted by the parish Baby & Toddler Groups and Messy Church. Extra helpers needed plus cakes – could you join in or bake?

GIVE AWAY ‘THE SERVANT QUEEN’ BOOK!
HM Queen Elizabeth has prefaced a special presentation book about her faith. We hope to have 200 copies available next Sunday for worshippers to take and (after a sneak read!) to pass on to a friend. They’re designed to be given away! 100 children’s versions available too.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 2016 – over £3000!
Thank-you to all the volunteers, helpers and contributors to our effort to raise funds for the work of CA.
Together we have already raised over £3000. The grand total from our collection will be available soon once all the contributions have been counted. Funds raised separately at the Quiz Night have contributed to this sum, and also made a £400 donation to the Christian Aid parish partnership for Ethiopia! Thank-you indeed!
ETHIOPIA PARTNERSHIP’ LAUNCH DAY
We shall launch our new partnership on Sunday 17th July, to raise £5000 by October 2017 which will then become £30,000 by EU grant! For women’s wellbeing.

The ‘Hymnal Plus’ player is used by many churches and is ideally suited to St. Faith’s. If there are any folk who’d be happy to make a donation to St. Faith’s in support of the £2000 cost then any gifts would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
