The MU will meet on Tuesday 19th April at 2.00pm in the Parish Centre when our speaker will be Caroline Barber who will be telling us of the seven good habits for good mental health. Everyone is most welcome to join us.
THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY
Thursday Bible Study restarts for the summer term this week on 21st April in the Parish Centre lounge. We meet fortnightly from 10am to 11.30am. We shall be studying the gospel of Mark and everyone is most welcome to come. Diana Dow 02392 528122

Our Thursday evenings start up again on 21st April with a Bring & Share Supper from 7.15pm to include an Agape style communion. All welcome to join us for our gathering of worship, prayer, Bible study and fellowship – for church!

QUEEN’S 90th BIRTHDAY STREET PARTY
Lunchtime on Sunday 12th June in Alverstoke Village Centre around the Chestnut Tree. From 12noon-3.00pm – music, tables and seating for 250 – bring your picnic hamper, find a seat and join our community celebration!

ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING
Our whole parish Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is on Tuesday 19th April at 7.00pm in St.Mary’s. As well as reflecting upon the life of the church in 2015 we shall appoint our Churchwardens and elected members of the Parochial Church Council, our Sidesmen and welcomers. Copies of the Accounts and of last year’s minutes are available, and the Electoral Roll may be inspected.
NOMINATIONS for PCC
Could you serve on the Parochial Church Council? Meeting 6 times a year our PCC shares in overseeing the ministry and mission of the parish. Nominations are sought for the election of 4 members at our APCM to serve until 2019. Nominees to be worshippers at St.Mary’s and on the Electoral Roll. Nomination forms are at the back of St.Mary’s or at Parish Office.

FRIENDS OF ST.MARY’S AGM
We’re so grateful to the Friends of St.Mary’s for their care of St.Mary’s church building. Our AGM is on Saturday 7th May at 7.00pm in the Parish Centre. Alverstoke & Forton Girlguiding invite you to their May Fair at the Parish Centre from 2.00pm-4.00pm on Saturday 14th May. Stalls, games, cakes, refreshments and much more.
SUMMER QUILTING FESTIVAL
Our local Scrap Happy quilters are displaying their beautiful works at the Quilting Festival in St.Mary’s from 3rd – 5th June 2016. Save the date and come to enjoy their wonderful craft.
A NEW PARISH CENTRE for 2020?
The Parish Centre Regeneration Group have been working hard to consider the way forward. The PCC have approved their suggestion that we go to the next stage with architects plans so that the Parish Centre may continue to serve at the heart of our community most effectively for the future.
