LICENSING FOR REVD TIM WATSON
On 17th April, in three stages first by Gathering in St.Faith’s at 11.00am, Bishop Christopher will then lead us in Processing with prayers along the ‘railway’ walkway and through Leesland Park to the back entrance of Leesland Junior School for the Licensing of Tim as our new Pioneer Minister at 11.00am on Sunday 17th April in Leesland.
Shared with Forton, a very special day in our church story.
A planned ‘Bring & Share’ lunch will follow – please see below and sign-up at the back of our churches.
Some may prefer simply to gather at the school.
The licensing will not include communion and so Hazel will host a single said service at 9.15am in St.Mary’s that day.
ST.MARY’S WORSHIP QUESTIONNAIRE
One week left! We’d be grateful of all worshippers at St.Mary’s completing a survey – cream forms at the back of church, posted when complete in the box during March or to Parish Centre. Thanks. We’d also value your help in forwarding a blue feedback form to any you know who have left us through the changes – thank you for your help.
FELLOWSHIP & PRAYER
Hebrews 10v25: “not giving up meeting together…
but encouraging one another.”
‘LET US PRAY’ IN LENT On Weds at 2.00pm & 7.30pm in St.Mary’s Chapel.
SIGN-UP FOR TIM’S LICENSING LUNCH
Following the 11.00am Licensing on 17th April we shall enjoy lunch together in Leesland Junior School Hall. Urgent! Please sign up the list asap to say you’re coming and also what, if anything, you can bring as a contribution to the food organised on a ‘Bring & Share’ basis. We seek cold savoury dishes such as Coronation Chicken or Quiche; salads and desserts – thank you!
LADIES BREAKFAST 8th April
Women are invited to enjoy the fellowship and breakfast at 9.00am on Saturday 8th in the Parish Centre where our guest speaker will be Revd Andy Davis from Holy Trinity.
We’re so pleased that 31 women enjoyed our first SMILE!
CARS ’N CURRY NIGHT
New for men on Sat 23rd April in the Parish Centre. We’ll order take away food – then race the radio controlled or Scalextric kit you bring along! Come with models or not – car chat, food, God talk and bring your mates (plus drinks!)
We’d love you to join in March!
THE CHURCH ELECTORAL ROLL
By your faith in Jesus you belong to his church – your baptism celebrates that belonging. But you can express ‘belonging’ to a local CofE congregation through our ‘Church Electoral Roll’. It even gives you a vote at the annual meetings – so why not sign up? Application Forms are at the back of church.
The closing date for this ahead of APCM is Sunday 4th April.
OUR ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING
Our whole parish Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is on Tuesday 19th April at 7.00pm in St.Mary’s.
As well as reflecting upon the life of the church in 2015 we shall appoint our Churchwardens and elected members of the Parochial Church Council; our Sidesmen and welcomers, and look forward to the future with time for your questions.
LOVING SERVICE & GIVING
Hebrews 10v24: ‘“let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds.”
Chapel, Crèche & Children’s Corner CARPET
Many thanks for the donations towards replacing the Chapel carpet which will now only cost about £400 to the PCC and will be fitted in the week after Easter. The mould and moth condition of the chapel carpet means it is need of replacement. To provide for the front crèche and back children’s corner, and especially to keep worshippers safe from tripping over the rolled out carpet, new carpet will also be fitted from the ‘Shaping the Future’ Fund. Many thanks to those who
continue to support this vital fund with your gifts.
SEEKING A FAIRTRADE CO-ORDINATOR
We’re so grateful to David & Tessa Bloodworth who’ve
faithfully encouraged fairtrade & provided the Tradecraft stall for us. They are now stepping down from this and seek a successor to train up in this valuable ministry. We thank them for this and their many ministries in outreach, as warden, and on the baptism team over so many years.
DID YOU KNOW?
