This Thurs MESSY CHURCH
This Thursday 28th January at 3.30pm in the Parish Centre – for primary aged children and their adults. Bible based crafts, games, worship and hot supper on ‘Jesus – past, present and future’ (Candlemas). The team seek new helpers to join them in what proves, nationally, to be a very fulfilling ministry especially for those in early retirement – please have a word.

This Thurs OUR HEART – Developing Worship that helps the church to grow.
The last session of the Church Growth course is this Thursday 21st January at 7.30pm in the Parish Centre. Did you know that we have been blessed to be sponsored by the diocese with this course ahead of it being rolled out to every parish in the diocese in 2016 through the Bishop’s ‘Live, Pray, Serve’ programme.

BRING & SHARE SUPPER
Whether you’re established as a worshipper here for 30 years or for 3 months – please join us for a simple Bring & Share supper for all across the parish.
Join us in the fellowship of eating together on Thursday 28th January from 7.00pm in the Parish Centre. Come, meet and make new friends – ending with some prayer. A great warm up for the ‘The Prayers of Jesus’ which continues on the following weeks…

Our fascinating Pilgrim evenings will return for 6 sessions on ‘The Prayers of Jesus’ from Thurs 4th Feb to 10th March at 7.15pm in the Parish Centre.

If you would like to donate the cost of a candle in memory of a loved one, please complete the form at the back of St.Mary’s and return it to the Parish Office with your £2. Your loved one’s name will be entered to the special memorial book.
VISIT OF BISHOP FOR LICENSING
Bishop Christopher will license Revd Tim Watson as our new Pioneer Minister at 11.00am on Sunday 17th April in Leesland. The PCC have affirmed that this will be one of the days when all our services will stop allowing us all to gather together with the Bishop (and with Forton parish) to welcome Tim, Clare and their children that day. The Licensing may include a procession to the school along with a celebration lunch.
If the service does not include communion then we shall arrange an additional said service; perhaps 9.00am.

AT ST.FRANCIS CHURCH Welcome to the Christingle service today followed by our bring and share lunch.  Enquires to Joy 92588520. St Francis Social Event Saturday 13th February at 2.30pm.  All welcome.  Tea and cakes.  Entertainment from a clarinet.  Donations towards the new back fence.

The Late BETTY WHETSTONE
Please hold Admiral Tony and his family in your prayers as they prepare to give thanks for Betty’s life at her funeral in St.Mary’s at 12noon on Friday 5th Feb.

Celebrating with HUMPHREY
Revd Humphrey Prideaux celebrates his 80th birthday on 29th January.  At the 8.00 and 9.15 Holy Communion services on Sunday 31st January he invites us to join him in gratitude for his life and for his 54 years in the ordained ministry.
