TALKING ABOUT MONEY – Thank you.
We’re very grateful to all who have responded in giving in the light of the parishes financial struggle. All your giving across the whole congregation is very much appreciated – thank you.
We are due to host a full Stewardship campaign in October to introduce the new CofE Parish Giving Scheme. But until then, we’re grateful to any who are able to respond to our deficit now by new giving or one of gifts – thank you very much. For more information or for Standing Order and Gift Aid forms please contact the Parish Office.
CHURCH ALIVE BAPTISM: 16th August
The wider congregation who knew Megan & Stephen Milliken weekly at the former 10.00am service and now at Church Alive, will be pleased to congratulate them on the birth of Annabelle in June. Megan & Stephen will be celebrating Annabel’s baptism within Church Alive on Sunday 16th August. They invite their friends in the congregation to join them at lunchtime afterwards at the ‘Search Museum’ in Clarence Road next to the Gosport Gallery entrance.
PIONEERING MINISTER for LEESLAND
A date of 9th December has been put in the
Bishop’s diary for the hosting of interviews for three new Pioneering posts across the diocese. We are to be one of those posts in Leesland with St.Faith’s as the hub of this exciting new ministry. Please pray towards this important appointment for us and our deanery in collaboration with Forton. Pioneering Ministers are a new style of ‘vicar’ in the CofE who have the objective of reaching out to the unchurched community who normally live their lives without reference to the church or Christian faith. The post will be full time for at least five years and will enable us to better serve the
significant part of our parish north of the B3333.
DID YOU KNOW?
The Parochial Church Council have affirmed the Bishop’s policy which allows for a journey to be taken by older children ahead of their receiving communion before they are Confirmed. The journey involves a course of preparation culminating in the presentation of a certificate in a church service. Children so prepared and admitted may then take communion in any anglican church. The children are then expected to prepare for Confirmation as their faith grows towards adulthood.
