TALKING ABOUT MONEY – Our Stewardship.
We are about 200 people worshipping at our services every Sunday from a larger pool of 300 or so of those of come regularly. The PCC would like to call us all to prayerful consideration of our parish finances.
Midway through the year our income is down from last year which will lead us towards a substantial deficit. We don’t have the £53000 legacy which blessed us in 2014. Hence cash flow to fulfil our responsibilities will start to be difficult. It’s the
effectiveness of our finance team with Tim as Treasurer using new software that is better informing us as to our trends in giving. We seek wisely to spend all that is entrusted to the parish, our expenditure has not increased whilst our giving has been behind for a few years now. This deficit runs at £4000 a month, and so we are at the point of reserves no longer being able to keep us afloat. We seek to be able to resource our mission in the parish and, once we appoint a Pioneering Minister, we will then also cease to be net donors to the diocese in terms of our Parish Share covering all clergy costs.
Please commit this matter to your prayers that we may discern the Lord’s will and grace to guide all 300 of us.
Therefore if anyone is able to review their giving or if any new givers are able to take up regular Standing Orders with Gift Aid then that would be very much appreciated – thank you so much for all you give. This please, in keeping with the principles of our Christian Stewardship such that we all offer our gifts in worship to God in proportion to our income – thank you.
Please note that we shall have a Stewardship Campaign to launch the Parish Giving Scheme in October – but that comes too late to balance the 2015 books!
For more information please contact the Parish Office.

DID YOU KNOW? Damp Wall!
The wall of St.Mary’s towards the back of church from the war memorial has been damp from the external down pipe leaking. Cameron & Sons have repaired the wall and floor. They found the floor blocks to be rotted but managed to save the top inch of each block in order to relay the floor. The surface is not yet perfectly smooth so please take care if you walk on it.
With thanks to The Friends of St.Mary’s for their support in this needed repair.
