It will involve a commissioning for members of all our deanery churches in their mission and local ministries and as PCC members. This special service is in lieu of our usual iNViTe service.
Can you provide a cake for the Deanery Service? We’ll be serving refreshments before and after the 6.30pm service next Sunday. Any cakes, scones etc would be welcome, thanks!

As we work to raise £5000 by July 2016 (so that EU add £15000) for our partnership with Christian Aid and the Diocese of Narok to provide 5 maternity clinics, the good news is that our fund has now reached £3500. Thank you such generosity.

SUMMER BBQ LUNCH bidding farewell to Laura
Early notice that all are invited please to join us for a BBQ on 19th July from 12.30pm. This will be Laura’s last Sunday with us as our Parish Worker. Please note that the lunch may potentially evolve in to a picnic near the beach if we host a baptism in the sea that day!
DISCUSSING ST.MARY’S SIDE AISLE PEWS
The architect, builder and plumber recently visited to explore the possibility of moving the pews against the wall in St.Marys. This last week the PCC and Diocesan Advisory Committee have expressed strong support for the principle of this but the initial costings are high. We also hosted open meetings on Friday (after publication of this pew sheet!).
St.Mary’s has a real dignity as a church but it is notably overcrowded with pews. It is hoped that the creating of space to the side aisles will not only afford greater usable space for church worship and community, but will also enhance the sense of ‘place’ and spiritual ‘space’ for the whole building; making it less ‘busy’ and adding to its character and beauty.
WE’RE ALL WELCOMERS!
Our recent Sidesmen’s training sessions explored how, in addition to their ‘welcome’, it is in fact all of us as members of the congregation who are needed to foster a culture of Invitation, of Welcome and of Care for all who attend our worship at every service. A sense that it is the Lord who invites us, welcomes us and cares for us and newcomers in our midst. Apparently, if we are not ‘welcomed’ at a deeper level by our 3rd visit to church then we’re unlikely to come again! So, let’s be second to none in our warmth of welcome, our inviting each other to fellowship (welcome teas, home groups, choir etc) and in the loving care we offer.
