You’re iNViTe-d Tonight!

As well as leading our contemporary praise and worship a few people will share their stories of how God has met them in their place of deepest need. A celebration of the freedom and release that faith in Jesus brings – join us if you can.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO ATTEND CHRIS’S ORDINATION?
The Cathedral need numbers so if you’d like to attend the Cathedral at 11.0am on 4th July to support Chris then please let Sue in the Church Office know this week – thanks.
We look forward welcoming Chris & Abbie Richardson (with James & Kate) on Sunday 5th July when we shall host a Welcome Lunch in the Parish Centre.
But first we’d love to welcome the family with a hearty ‘hamper’ in their new home when they move to the parish in 4 weeks – any donations of a few new home necessities and some welcoming ‘luxuries’ would be great in the box at the back of St.Mary’s or to the Church Office by 17th; thank you.
SUMMER TERM PILGRIM – join the fellowship.
Join us on Thursday evening in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm for our Pilgrim evening starting with how we can have confidence in the Resurrection from John’s Gospel. A midweek act of worship, prayer, friendship, learning, growing.
SIDESMEN/WELCOME TEAM TRAINING
Our Sunday ‘welcome’ is key to the future of the church. All current and new sidesmen are asked to attend training to reflect on this across the parish on either 5th May at 7.30pm or 9th May at 9.00am in St.Mary’s. This is for those who would be welcomers at St.Francis’ and St.Faith’s too – thanks.
90 members filled the Parish Centre last Tuesday evening to hear reports, make appointments and celebrate church growth – hearing how the Electoral Roll membership has risen with 23 new members to 415. Newly appointed to the Parochial Church Council were Phil Dray, David McKinlay, Betty Baird and Sarah Savery with Graham Hewitt being elected to the Gosport Deanery Synod & PCC. Bill Lock and Kathryn Clarke were reappointed as our Churchwardens. We’re grateful to all who have served as Sidesmen – one or two have stepped down and we welcome new members to the large team of welcomers. In his report, the Rector spoke of the challenges and imperative of growth and suggested a meeting for the 9.15am congregation be hosted to explore how to strengthen that act of worship. Questions at the end affirmed the role of Sidesmen and were concerned for the impact of the change of time to 9.15am for some worshippers.
