The Collect for Easter Sunday
God of glory, by the raising of your Son
you have broken the chains of death and hell:
fill your Church with faith and hope;
for a new day has dawned
and the way to life stands open
in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

PARISH OFFICE CLOSURE THIS WEEK
Please note that the Parish Office shall be closed for the week

RENEWING THE PARISH CENTRE – OPEN MEETING
Any who may be interested in working towards a new Parish Centre for its 50th Anniversary (2018), both in the planning and in fundraising, or just for information, are invited to a meeting to get it started on 29th April, 7.30pm, Parish Centre.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 10th-16th May 2015
We need volunteers to support our parish envelope collections for Christian Aid – either/both in the preparation of collectors packs plus counting and in the street collections please. Please contact the Parish Office or Bill Lock – thanks. Did you know that 20,000 churches raised £11 million through these collections last year! Perhaps we can better our own £2000?

SUMMER TERM PILGRIM – join the fellowship.
Pilgrim will continue from 30th April on Thursday evenings in the Parish Centre; first with Bible Studies of the resurrection from John’s Gospel followed by John 1 to 4.

NEXT ALPHA COURSE – save the date, bring a friend.
The next course is booked for Wednesday evenings from 7th October for 10 weeks in Darcey’s Tea Room from 7.00pm. Start to pray now about whom you could invite to come!

DID YOU KNOW?
Our new primary school assemblies team was so well received for their Easter Assembly at Leesland Junior School that one of the classes asked for a ‘repeat’ in the church to inspire the creative writing of the children! Great work team!

CAN YOU SPONSOR A PUPPET?
Thank you to those who are sponsoring puppets – we seek about 8 for our new schools team. We hope to get the puppets at Spring Harvest. They cost £50 each. Any others who may like to sponsor a puppet (or part of) then your gift to the Parish Office (after 13th April) would be much appreciated – thank you so much.

KENYA MATERNITY SPONSORED RUN SUCCESS!
With keen competitors being blown off the Goodwood track by the 50mph winds last Sunday, Rosie Wright and Libby Norris pressed on to their goal which was the finishing line for their duoatholon inspired by your sponsorship for the mums of Narok County. They completed their run-cycle-run in style although Yvette Dawson was sorry to stand cheering them on from pulling up with a last minute training injury.
Thank you so much for your amazing sponsorship for these fab women to support those other remarkable women in Kenya through our church partnership.
Please either put your sponsorship in an envelope marked as Kenya Sponsor (gift aided envelope if appropriate) or hand it in to the Parish Office. Cheques to St.Mary’s Alverstoke PCC with Kenya on the back. Or you can transfer by BACs to our special Kenya account at St.Mary’s Alverstoke PCC, Account number: 01077703 Sort Code: 30-93-56, if poss. coded with
‘sponsor’. Thank you very much indeed.

Last Day for Joining the CHURCH ELECTORAL ROLL
Electoral Roll membership Forms are available at the back of our churches for the annual update of new members ahead of the APCM – return by Monday please to the Parish Office. Membership closes 2 weeks ahead of the Annual Meeting!

CAN YOU JOIN OUR WELCOME TEAM (Sidesmen) ?
At the annual meeting we nominate ‘sidesmen’ who have the most important role of being our welcomers as we come to worship. Perhaps you could join the rota for this? – we especially need more women as well as men, and younger people too. If so please have a word with a Churchwarden or sign the list at the back of our churches. New Training for all sidemen is essential and will be on 5th May at 7.30pm and 9th May at 9.00am. This is for those who would be welcomers at St.Francis’ and St.Faith’s too – thank you.

ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING (APCM)
Please note that the AGM for the whole parish is to be held on Tuesday 21st April 2015 at 7.00pm in the Parish Centre.
If possible please bring a £1 coin to the meeting and we’ll tell you what it is for when you get there!

PARISH ACCOUNTS 2014
The parish accounts are available in our churches for inspection. You are welcome to have a copy – if they run out then please sign the list in church so we can print more!
We thank the Lord that Finances are improving, but it still leaves us running with a shortfall of about £1000 per month.

ELECTIONS TO PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL
We elect 4 members of St.Mary’s to the PCC for a 3 year term at each annual meeting. We’re grateful to Graham, Rosemary and Karen who have served and are stepping down this time. Please pray towards this, nomination forms are at the back.
We’re also grateful to Karen for her service as PCC Secretary – a post which we shall need to fill for the new PCC! Could you join the PCC as our new Secretary?
